Starter structure material you cut from trees. It is the backbone of early bases, from foundations and chests to walls and gates, and it stays useful long after metal unlocks because crush queues and wooden crafts never fully stop.

Prefer chopping with a Lumbering Pal or your axe, then scale volume with a Logging Site and later a Logging Site II so the forest run becomes a steady chest fill. Surplus logs go straight into the Crusher for Fiber, which keeps cloth and early weapon crafts fed without another tree trip. Park the Crusher beside the logging chest so Transport Pals can keep the grind moving while you build.

Sink Wood into Wooden Board, Hardwood lines when those open, plus Wooden Defensive Wall and Wooden Gate for the first real perimeter. Keep one dry stack for builds and a second pile feeding Fiber so Handiwork crews aren't fighting over the same crate.
