Common Shield

Tech Level 4. Earliest auto-repair shield that opens the shield ladder once basic mats and a small Paldium Fragment stack are online. Shield sits near 100, so early bosses and cave packs chip a buffer that rebuilds after you stop taking hits. Reach for it when cloth and early plate leave you naked against chip damage, and you want a cheap shield before mid-tier upgrades.

Recipe: Paldium Fragment ×10 + Wood ×20 + Stone ×20 + Fiber ×10. Twenty Wood, twenty Stone, and ten Fiber are free early sinks, so the real gate is ten Paldium Fragment. Farm fragment loops from the best Paldium Fragment base locations guide, then park the stack beside the workbench for one craft. Paldium Fragment is the craft mat only here.

Wear Common Shield for starter towers, early alphas, and any route where Shield 100 and auto-repair beat walking in bare.
