Refined Ingot

This is the furnace-tier metal between plain Ingot and the Pal Metal / Plasteel climb. Smelt it in an Improved Furnace around Technology level 34, or later in Electric, Gigantic, or Ancient Furnaces once those stations unlock.

The recipe is Ore ×2 and Coal ×2for one Refined Ingot, and it needs a Kindling Pal on the furnace. Unlock the Improved Furnace first so you can start the metal climb, then move to an Electric Furnace later for speed and for Pal Metal and Plasteel smelts on the same powered bay.

Demand is broad. Production Assembly Line II, rifles, armor sets, Electric Kitchen, Electric Medicine tools, and Electric Furnace builds all pull from the same pile. A base that only smelts when a recipe pops will starve the next unlock wave.

Scale with dedicated Ore and Coal mining. Two resource outposts beat one overcrowded starter base once Assembly Line II and electric stations come online. Keep Kindling coverage on every furnace so ore and coal never sit unused in chests.
