Core metal commodity you dig from rocks and caves, then refine into bars. Every early weapon, nail, and armor plate waits on Ore hitting a furnace, so this stack is the bottleneck that turns a wood base into a metal one.

Prefer field and cave nodes early, then plant an Ore Mining Site and later an Ore Mining Site II once you want continuous feed without cave runs. For where to park those sites, use Best Ore Base Locations. This page stays a commodity hub, not a farm map.

Smelt Ore into Ingot on Primitive Furnace, then climb Improved Furnace, Electric Furnace, and later hearths as Tech opens. Refined Ingot and higher alloys still want Ore in the mix, so keep a shared ore chest beside Kindling floors instead of splitting stacks across camps.
