Technology Level 4 (1 Tech Point). Early weave you craft the moment Wool starts landing, long before refined fabrics show up.

At the Primitive Workbench, Wool ×2 becomes Cloth. Keep a Ranch wool Pal assigned so the bench never waits on scavenged scraps. Armor crafts, Pal Gear Workbench builds, and the Egg Incubator (Cloth ×5 in the commonly cited pad) all eat stacks, so bank extras instead of selling every bolt.

Graduate to High Quality Cloth when later armor and gear recipes ask for the upgrade, but don't abandon basic Cloth while incubators and early Pal Gear still need it. Community lists commonly cite dozens of Cloth recipes across armor and gear, so verify sinks on your patch instead of trusting one spreadsheet. Park the Primitive Workbench beside your ranch chest so Transport can clear Wool and return finished Cloth without a long walk.
