Charcoal

Furnace product made by burning Wood. It is the black half of early ammo chemistry and a mid craft sink later, so once your smelters run, Charcoal becomes a steady output beside bars.

A commonly cited craft is Wood ×2 per Charcoal at the furnace ladder from Primitive Furnace through Improved Furnace, Electric Furnace, Gigantic Furnace, and Ancient Furnace. Keep a Wood chest next to the forge line so Kindling Pals can feed the queue without hauling from the logging wing every cycle. A Flame Cauldron nearby helps Fire workers keep those furnaces lit.

Combine Charcoal with Sulfur for Gunpowder, then push leftovers into the Carbon Fiber path when that Tech unlocks. Bank a crate before big ammo craft nights so the forge doesn't stall mid batch.
