Early forage fruit with cited Nutrition near 15. You pick them from wild bushes almost anywhere, then scale volume with a Berry Plantation once Planting crews are online. Berries keep Feed Boxes and Travelers fed while your wheat and ranch lines catch up.

Prefer plantation output into a kitchen chest shared with Flour, Milk, Egg, and Honey. The headline sink is Cake for breeding: Flour ×5, Red Berries ×8, Milk ×7, Egg ×8, and Honey ×2. That one recipe is enough to size berry crates before a hatch night. Leftover berries still snack well or fill simpler cook crafts as Tech opens them.

Keep wild picks for the first hours, then let the plantation own volume so you're not bush-checking every food crisis.
