Crossbow

Tech Level 13. Midgame ranged weapon that fires an Arrow with less draw strain than a basic bow while packing a heavier shot. Attack sits near 280, and the tradeoff is a slower reload, so you land hard hits between loads instead of spraying.

Recipe: Wood ×50 + Stone ×40 + Ingot ×10 + Nail ×2 on a Weapon Workbench. Stock Arrow ammo beside the bench so the first Crossbow is ready to fire the same night you unlock Tech 13. Keep Nail and Ingot in the same weapon crate so a replacement craft after a death does not stall on fasteners.

Carry Crossbow when you leave the Old Bow and Three Shot Bow behind but firearms and their ammo lines are not online yet. Use it for field clears and alpha softening where one strong Arrow per load beats weak rapid shots. Graduate to Musket once Tech 21 and oil are ready.
