Old Bow

Tech Level 3. Starter ranged weapon that lets you hunt and kite before firearms or Crossbow unlocks. Attack sits near 65, so you poke pals from a safer distance while melee still risks early deaths. Craft it as soon as Wood, Stone, and Fiber piles exist at base.

Recipe: Wood ×30 + Stone ×5 + Fiber ×15. Thirty Wood is the light sink, and Stone plus Fiber finish the frame from any starter gather loop. Keep spare kits in the chest, because early expeditions chew through durability and a lost bow leaves you stuck in melee.

Carry Old Bow for first-day hunting, early boss kiting, and any fight where range matters more than raw damage. Step up to Three Shot Bow when you want three-arrow fan fire, then Crossbow when Tech and mats unlock a stronger draw, then keep the Old Bow as a cheap backup for new characters or lost gear nights.
