Condensation

The Pal Essence Condenser ranks one Pal by sacrificing copies of the same species. You pick a keeper, feed it duplicates, and watch blue stars climb. Combat stats, Partner Skill level, and Work Suitability all move with those stars.

Official context: 1.0 / 1.0.5, 287 pals, level cap 80, Work Suitability ceiling 10, Condensation max rank 48. Sister systems: Work Suitability, Ranch, Breeding, Mutation.

Max rank 48 (was 116)

1.0 cut the copy tax hard. You no longer sink 116 same-species pals into one star line. The split is:

StarsCopies this stepRunning total
1★44
2★812
3★1224
4★2448

Sacrificed pals are gone. Rank progress sticks to the keeper, so you can finish a star line across multiple sessions.

What each star actually does

RankWork SuitabilityPartner SkillCombat
Each star before 4★Raises one existing Work Suitability by +1Climbs toward the capHP / Attack / Defense scale up
4★Raises every work skill that Pal already has by +1Reaches level 5 (from 1 at zero stars)Full combat bump for the line

Partner Skill level tracks stars: 1 at zero stars through 5 at four stars. That matters for ranch multipliers, detection skills, mounts you already own, and any Partner Skill that scales with rank.

Work Suitability can climb to 10 in 1.0. Condensation is still the main structured way to push a labor Pal past its wild baseline. Pair it with Work Suitability when you are staffing plantations, ranches, or mining outposts.

Active and Passive skills on the sacrificed copies do not transfer. Breed the passives you want onto the keeper first (breeding guide, chain breeding passives, breeding IVs, Mutation).

Lucky pals and Starfruit

Lucky wild pals often start at a higher condensation rank when caught. That saves a full early star pile if you are hunting a labor or combat ace.

Starfruit from medal and bounty shops can add rank without burning the full copy stack. Use it when the species is rare, expensive to breed, or already scarce in your box.

Expedition lockout

Pals currently out on an Expedition cannot enter the condenser until they return. Canceling one pal cancels the whole run under expedition rules, so plan condenser sessions around docked workers.

Firepower math on expeditions also scales with condenser rank in live notes. Ranking a filler squad still helps mission success even when those pals are not base stars.

Practical rank priorities

GoalWho to push firstWhy
Ranch outputSingle-job Farming pals (Chikipi, Mozzarina, Melpaca, Vixy)Every early star lands on Farming
Base throughputAnubis / multi-skill handiwork leads4★ bumps every job they already have
Partner Skill loopsDetection, ranch, or combat skills you actually pressSkill level 5 is the real payoff
Expedition fillerHigh HP / Attack / Defense shellsRank squares into firepower formulas

Do not condense your only breeding parent. Keep a clean genetic backup before you start feeding copies (best breeding combos, exclusive breeding combos).

Condensation vs Mutation vs Statue

SystemJob
CondensationSame-species rank, Partner Skill, Work Suitability
MutationCake / rainbow passive chase on eggs
Statue of PowerPlayer / Pal investment sinks (leave item pages alone here)

Use condensation when the species and passives are already correct. Use mutation and breeding when the passive line is still wrong.
