The usual recipe is Pal Metal Ingot ×20, Plasteel ×20, and Cryogenic Coolant ×15. Older lists swap coolant for a heavy Ice Organ count; treat those as patch snapshots and confirm the coolant recipe in-game. Assign a Cooling Pal. Capacity is commonly cited around 30 slots.

Spoil timers slow down the same way a fridge does, but workers can grab meals here instead of you splitting cold backlog and a separate Feed Box. That closes the late food QoL loop once Pal Metal and Plasteel are already flowing for armor and electronics.

Start with a Cooler Box for early Ice storage, keep a Refrigerator for overflow batch cooks if you like, or graduate the kitchen corner to Cold Food Boxes once coolant income is steady. Park dry bulk in a Large Container instead of stuffing ore into chill slots. Either way, park Cooling labor next to the kitchen so Transport isn't the reason Cake goes soft.
