Defense sits at 2 with fifteen storage slots, and the in-game description says it is an iron shelf for storing items. Reach for it when you want denser mid shelving after early wood storage before late decorative pieces like Traffic Cone and Barricade.

Recipe: Ingot ×20 + Nail ×1. Twenty Ingot and one Nail are light mid sinks beside the workbench, so the kit finishes in one trip with no Paldium in the recipe.

Carry Iron Shelf for mid workshop storage, ore and tool racks, and any furniture slot where fifteen Defense 2 iron slots beat empty walls beside wooden shelves.
