Bear Trap (Large)

Technology Level 21. Ground trap sized for big targets. When a large Pal steps in, it locks in place so you can close distance and throw spheres with a better capture chance while it stays pinned.

The usual recipe is Ingot ×20. That is a pure forge cost, so you can drop several along a capture path once your smelter lane is stable. Place them on choke points, nest approaches, or the trail between a bait pile and your shooting lane. Pair with Hanging Trap for smaller catches, Sandbag for cover, and Mounted Crossbow when you need fire support while you throw.

Only large Pals trigger it. Small Pals walk past, so don't waste plates on tiny ranch pests or early scrub. Use Bear Trap (Small) when the size filter is still the little ones. Bring the sphere tier you need from the Pal Spheres lane, then spring the trap before you commit the throw.
