Combat Mechanics: Weapons, Shields, and Types

Player Weapons
The Assault Rifle and Pump-Action Shotgun are the kings of the late game. Always aim for headshots (the crit multiplier is huge). Keep your weapons repaired; a broken gun deals 1 damage.
The Shield is Your Life
Shields regenerate out of combat. Health does not (without specific items/Pals). Never fight a boss if your shield is broken. Kite them until it recharges.
Element Effectiveness
Palworld uses a rock-paper-scissors element system. Fire beats Grass. Grass beats Ground. Using a super-effective attack deals 1.5x damage, while using a resisted attack deals 0.5x damage. Memorize the type chart.
