Card Types & Anatomy

There are 5 different card types in the Palworld TCG. Understanding how to read them is the key to victory!

Card Types Overview

Pal

Pal Card

The core of your deck. Pals have Power (attack) and Durability (HP). They battle other Pals to deal damage to the opponent!

Gear

Gear Card

Equip Gears to your Pals on the field to give them stat boosts, new abilities, or special attack effects.

Event

Event Card

One-time use cards that trigger powerful effects like drawing cards or healing Pals. They go to the discard pile after use.

Structure

Structure Card

Placed on the field, these provide ongoing passive effects for you or your Pals until they are removed.

Soul

Soul Card

Kept in the Soul Deck. They are played facedown as energy to pay for card costs, or face up to trigger special abilities!

Anatomy of a Pal Card

Hover over or tap the highlights on the card below to learn what each section means!

Card Anatomy
Cost: The number of Soul cards you must exhaust to play this card from your hand.
Name & Element: Identifies the Pal and its elemental typing (e.g. Grass, Fire).
Rules Text: Contains abilities (AUTO, ACT) and Work Suitability effects.
Power / Durability: Power is damage dealt. Durability is HP. If Damage >= Durability, the Pal is defeated!

Understanding Costs

When a card says it costs 2, you must exhaust (turn sideways) two facedown Soul Cards in your Soul Area. Some powerful abilities may also require you to discard a Soul card entirely!
