If you just ripped Dawn of Palpagos, you've already met a pile of codes. C, RR, SSP, something that looks like a typo. I did the same thing over coffee and a messy desk of sleeves.
Bushiroad keeps the official product page pretty tidy. For the first booster they list four base rarities, RR, R, U, and C, plus 61 parallels. That's the official ladder. Our EBP01 checklist is 162 printings once you add the gold Soul.
Official pack odds aren't out yet. Pokémon Company usually doesn't publish those either. Community counts and shop math are the working numbers for now.
The English product page never wrote the long names next to most of those letters. Collectors filled them in at the table.
What the letters stand for
Here's the decoder I wish I had on day one. Code first, then the name people actually say.
The playable deck
- C is Common.
- U is Uncommon. Some people write UC. Our cards and this site print U.
- R is Rare.
- RR is Double Rare.
Those four are the 100 numbered cards. The actual deck. On our checklist that is 34 Commons, 30 Uncommons, 24 Rares, and 12 Double Rares. A Common still hits the table. A Double Rare is usually the Pal you built the list around.
The booster parallels
- SR is Super Rare.
- SP is Super Parallel. Collectors mean a rare alternate-art foil. Extra P, extra poster. Same Pal, different art. Some lists just say Special.
- SSP is Super Special Parallel. The scarce premium collector hit, textured or gold foil, and it lives in the booster. Dawn of Palpagos has four of them. Chillet – Dragon Whisperer SSP is the card people point at when they say it.
- SSS is Super Secret Special. All-gold. In Dawn of Palpagos that's gold Soul, ESOUL-002.
- OSR is Over Super Rare, the name collectors use. Fifteen of them sit in the booster parallels. Cool foil. Not shop-only, and not the top chase.
Trial decks and promos
- TD is Trial Deck, the regular card in the starter box.
- TSR is Trial Deck Super Rare.
- TSP is Trial Deck Super Parallel.
- PR is Promo. Shop kits, events, extra products. Some Soul printings are PR. The gold SSS Soul is still an EBP01 pack card.
Play versus pretty
For play, the 4-copy rule cares about the card name, not the foil. Four Chillets is four Chillets even if one of them is prettier.
The 61 extras are foil or special versions of those same names. On our checklist that is 30 Super Rares, 15 Over Super Rares, 12 Super Parallels, and 4 Super Special Parallels. The gold Soul Super Secret Special sits beside that pile, one printing. 162 total if you add the 100 playable cards. The pack chase is the gold Soul, not OSR. That is the chase of EBP01 packs.
Dawn of Palpagos has four Super Special Parallel printings: Chillet – Dragon Whisperer, Jormuntide Ignis – Savage Lava Dragon, Lyleen – Blessing of the Goddess, and Helzephyr – Wings of the Moonless Night. Same Pal. Different object in a binder.

How to read a price tag
Look at the full code. EBP01-025 and EBP01-025SSP aren't the same listing. One is the RR. One is the chase foil.
Our deals and singles deals pages are sorted so you can see floor versus median. The card page may still say it has no verified sales. Trust the code first, the dollar second.
Legends Awaken is coming October 30, 2026. Same four base letters, plus parallels again. Details live on the BP02 hub.
