A Palworld TCG playmat ready for a first game

Sit down. Two decks. Don't rebuild anything yet.

You bought a trial deck. Good. Leave the binder closed.

This isn't a replacement for the rules hub. That page has the official Quick Manual, playmat guide, and floor rules. Search the official comprehensive rules when a call gets fussy. This is the version I'd say out loud while the sleeves are still in the wrapper.

The two piles you keep separate

You have a 50-card main deck and a 10-card Soul deck. Official. Don't shuffle them together. Souls pay for stuff. The main deck is the game.

If you built your own list later, official construction is up to two colors from Red, Blue, Green, and Purple, plus Colorless, and up to four cards with the same name. Foils of the same name still count. Tonight you can ignore that, because the trial deck is already legal.

How a turn feels, without the 40-page version

Our turn structure page is the one I'd keep open on a phone.

  • Standby: stand your rested cards back up, draw, maybe drop a Soul.
  • Main: play Pals, gears, events, structures. Move Pals around before you declare a fight.
  • Battle: rest a Pal to attack. Then it's their problem.
  • End: leftover damage on Pals goes away. Pass the turn.

If we argue about a keyword, we go back to the hub, not to memory.

Who goes first, Lucky Pals, how a hit lands

First player, Lucky Pal, and life totals live in the official manuals on how to play. If the table needs a call, use the Quick Manual.

Same for how you actually win. The official beginners page says you aim for victory with your Pals, gears, events, and structures. The manuals are the scoreboard.

What to do in the first ten minutes

Open the trial deck. Separate main and Soul. Put the paper playmat down so the piles have homes. Read the play guide that came in the box. Play one game badly on purpose.

Then, if you still like it, look at Dawn of Palpagos and deals. Not before.

Do I need two trial decks to play?
You need two players with legal 50 plus 10. Two different launch decks is the easy night.
Can I add the bonus booster pack before game one?
You can. I wouldn't. Learn the list you paid for.
Where is the real rulebook?
How to play. Official PDFs are on that page. Search the official comprehensive rules there too.
