If you want to play tonight, buy a trial deck. That's the official beginner path, and it really is the nicest first hour with this game.
Bushiroad says it straight on the for-beginners page. Start with a trial deck you can play out of the box. Power it up with booster cards after you know what the cards are doing.
What is actually in the box
There are two launch decks, both came out on July 30, 2026.
Trial Deck "Dawn of Palpagos Red・Blue"
Trial Deck "Dawn of Palpagos Green・Purple"

Green/Purple
Each one is a 60-card set. That means a 50-card main deck and a 10-card Soul deck. You also get a paper playmat, a play guide, a life counter, a material and ingredient counter, and one pack of Booster Pack "Dawn of Palpagos".
One card in that 50 is swapped for a parallel. Official name on the product page: Trial Deck Super Rare (TSR) or Trial Deck Super Parallel (TSP). Fancy. Still a complete deck.
Live prices sit on deals and trial deck deals.
What a booster is for
A booster is how you collect and upgrade. It isn't a lesson plan. Dawn of Palpagos is 100 base cards plus 61 parallels. Cool binder. A little chaotic as a first table if you've never paid a Soul.
Official construction is simple once you've played. Up to two colors from Red, Blue, Green, and Purple, plus Colorless, in that 50. Up to four copies of the same name. The trial deck already does that.
So buy the deck. Open the pack after game two, when you care which Pal you pulled.
Two people, two boxes
If you and a friend are both new, grab different decks. Red/Blue versus Green/Purple is the launch pairing. Checklists live at ETD01 and ETD02.
Rules are on our how to play hub, including the official PDFs. Handy when a Soul ruling comes up.
When you actually want a booster box
After a few games. When you know which color pair you like. Then the EBP01 checklist and booster box deals make sense.
Set two, Legends Awaken, is October 30, 2026. Still not your first buy. Notes are on the BP02 hub.
FAQ

- Is one box enough for two players?
- One trial deck is one player's 50 plus 10. Two new players want two decks.
- Does the extra pack make it a lottery?
- It's one Dawn of Palpagos pack. The deck is the product. The pack is dessert.
